Friends. We all need them. We all love them. We all need and deserve a great support network around us. Those people who know you so well. Those people who you don’t even have to say too many words to them to work out if you feel happy, sad, frustrated, emotional, grumpy, ecstatic. Those people that although you may not speak to them for a period of time, are still there for you and support you. They understand we are busy and we understand they are, too.
I am 38 and over the years, I have come to realise that we have a few close friends who we can really rely on. When I was younger, I loved having as many friends as I could. Were they friends or acquaintances? I prided myself on having people hug me when I saw them out. I loved walking into parties and knowing nearly the whole room. But you know what? That’s all lovely, but it’s those core people in your life who know you better than any of those people who give you hugs and air kisses that matter the most. And we need people in our lives who support us, love us and who don’t judge us.
What I am trying to say is, surround yourself with gold! Those friends who build you up, are happy for you when you succeed, are there to give you words of encouragement when you stuff up, are there for you through thick and thin.
As I got older, I realised that there can be poisonous people in your life. Those people who gossip, have bad energy and who sometimes project their bad energy onto you. We need to associate with people who make us feel good. Who raise our energy levels, make us laugh, project their high vibrations onto us. And us onto THEM!
If friends don’t make you feel good, don’t make you feel supported or put you down, it may be time to slowly go separate ways. All my beautiful friends bring different things into my life. Laughs, talk of spirituality, talk of nutrition and well-being, talk of movies and entertainment, talk of love and all the tribulations that come with it. Every friendship makes me feel fulfilled in different ways and they all bring something special into my life. Always surround yourself with amazingly supportive people and always be THERE for your friends, too!
To all my beautiful friends, I love and adore you all! xxx
